Topic: Crisis Management—Workplace Violence at IL Central College
Presenter: Tom Larson, ICC Chief of Police
Tom Larson will be discussing the various ways Illinois Central College has prepared employees and students for potential crisis through training, emergency response guides, and orientation outreach.
Tom has served as the Police Chief with the Illinois Central College Police Department since 2012. He previously served with the Peoria Police Department for 34 years, retiring at the rank of Lieutenant. He also served in a part-time capacity as the Chief of the Peoria Housing Authority Police.
During his career Chief Larson was assigned to the Patrol Division, Detective Bureau, Gang Unit, Street Crimes Unit and the Training Unit. He was also a Unit Commander in the Administrative Services and Vice and Narcotics Units, and a Hostage Negotiators Squad Leader with the Special Response Team (SWAT).
Chief Larson was an Executive Board member and founding webmaster with the Illinois Crisis Negotiators Association (ICNA) and is a graduate of Illinois Central College and the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command.
Lunch: Box lunches on-site consisting of sandwich or wrap with a choice of turkey or roast beef. Includes chips, cookie, fruit cup, and water. There will be an assortment of each on a first come, first served basis. Cost is $12 so please submit your reservation to email@example.com by noon on Friday, April 7th.
